Excel / Statistics Assignment
You are provided with data (in a separate file) for settling experiments of various 4-mm beads. Data provided consist of settling times (sec) over a 70-cm distance. For each column of data, use Excel to do the following:
1. Convert each time to a velocity in cm/sec. In other words, each list of times will have a corresponding list of velocities below.
2. Use appropriate Excel functions and calculations to determine (and display in separate rows) the following, based on the velocity values:
average
maximum
minimum
range
standard deviation
confidence interval (80%)
confidence interval (90%)
confidence interval (95%)
When saving your completed spreadsheet, the file name should start with the word Stats, followed by your last name and first initial (e.g., StatsSchmidtB.xlsx). Send the spreadsheet to both Dr. Collette and Dr. Schmidt as an email attachment. The due date for this assignment is listed in the syllabus.
