2. Describe the profile of the teacher – respondents in Las Navas II district in terms of:

3. Look into the level of implementation of the school programs such as: PTA meetings, Brigada Eskwela, Oplan balik eskwela, National Nutrition month, Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa, clean and green month, United Nations Day celebration, fund raising programs and academic competition as perceived by:

3.1  parent – respondents

3.2  teacher – respondents

4. Determine the level of involvement in supporting the school programs such as:  : PTA meetings, Brigada Eskwela, Oplan balik eskwela, National Nutrition month, Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa, clean and green month, United Nations Day celebration, fund raising programs and academic competition as perceived by:

5. Ascertain if there was a significant difference in the level of implementation of the school programs as perceived by the parents and the teachers.

II. Objectives of the study:

The objectives of the study are as follows:

1. To determine the profile of the BSED freshman college of education students taking basic mathematics 1 in terms of:

1.1  Mental ability

1.2  Attitudes towards Mathematics

2. To find out if there is a significant difference in mental ability between the student respondents in both the control and experimental groups.

3. To describe the performance of the student respondents in both control and experimental in the pre-test.

4. To determine the significant difference of the student respondents for both the control and experimental groups of their post-test performance.

5. To determine the significant difference in pre and post-test performance of the student respondents for the control and experimental groups.

III. Objectives of the study:

This study assessed the level of competence of Mathematics Teachers in Public Secondary Schools in the Central Area of Division of Northern Samar.

Specifically, it aimed to:

1. Identify the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:

1.1  Position;

1.2  Length of Service;

1.3  Highest Educational Attainment;

1.4  Number of Mathematics – teaching related trainings attended; and

1.5  Number of classes handled

2. Determine the situational factors of teaching competence of Mathematics teachers as to:

2.1  Physical Structure;

2.2  Classroom Facilities;

2.3  Instructional Materials 

IV. Objectives of the Study:

Generally, this study will determine the learning environment and mathematics performance of Fourth year students in the island municipalities in Northern Samar.

This will anchor on previous studies findings that environmental factors have impact on the mathematical achievement of students. Specifically, the present study seeks to meet the following objectives:

1. Determine the home profile of student – respondents in terms of:

1.1  Highest Educational attainment of mother;

1.2  Highest Educational attainment of father;

1.3  Monthly family income

2.  Determine the student – respondents’ perceptions on school in terms of:

2.1  Classroom;

2.2  Facilities;

2.3  Teacher

3.  Determine the student – respondents’ perception towards peers.

4.  Determine the student – respondents’ perception towards technology related factors.

5.  Determine the average performance of student – respondents for current school year.

6.  Find out the significant relationship between home profile and students’ performance in Mathematics/

7.  Find out the significant relationship between students’ perception on school and performance in mathematics.

8.  Find out the significant relationship between peers and other technology – related factors and performance in mathematics.

9.  Describe how the learning environment (i.e. home profile, school, and peers and technology) interplays in relation to the performance of student – respondents.

V.  Objectives of the study:

This study investigated the mediating role of mathematics engagement on the relationship of academic support to mathematics achievement of senior high school students in the University of Eastern Philippines.

            To support the main inquiry, this study sought to:

1.      Find out the level of academic support from parents, peers, and teachers;

2.      Determine the level of mathematics engagement of grade 12 senior high school students;

3.      Determine academic achievement of the grade 12 senior high school students;

4.      Find out if there is a significant relationship between academic support and mathematics engagement;

5.      Determine if there is a significant relationship between the levels of mathematics engagement and mathematics achievement; and

6.      Determine the mediating role of mathematics engagement on the relationship of academic support from parents, peers, and teachers to the mathematics achievement of the senior high school students at the University of Eastern Philippines.
