In part 2 of the assessment for Research Principles and Methods, you are required to produce a quantitative research report based upon an open data set. The data set is based upon a real-life study of workplace stress, burnout, health, and lifestyle factors among 219 prison officers in Colombia (Useche et al., 2019).

The introduction of the report should generate research aim(s) that can be answered within the data set provided with reference to psychological literature. The method and results require you to design and conduct appropriate methods and analyses on relevant parts of the data set to answer the research aims. In the discussion, you should interpret the findings with reference to psychological literature, and consider the strengths, limitations, and implications of the results.

In your write up, ensure you that specifically address the learning outcomes. You can use the marking criteria attached to the end of this assignment brief to help you.

Report format

The research report should include the following elements:

• Title

• Abstract

• Introduction (including Aims of Study)

• Method (including Design, Participants, Materials, Procedure, Data Analysis)

• Results

• Discussion

• References

• Appendices

The report has a limit of 2,000 words maximum.

The title, abstract, subheadings, tables/figures (including titles and footers for the tables/figures), reference list, and appendices are not included in the word count.

In-text references are included in the word count.
