The purpose of the final project is to demonstrate your ability to apply the knowledge and the techniques learned during this course. Final project is done individually.
FINAL PROJECT:
I. Pick a Dataset (Lecture – 6)
You need to pick one of the datasets provided on D2L to complete your final project. These are very small, less complex datasets. Once you identified the dataset, familiarize yourself with the dataset. Review the description, and identify the dependent variable and independent variables. The Dependent variable specified in the dataset should be used as your DV for the model. If you use a different variable, you will get a zero for the whole project. The main objective is for you to know which variable is used for which regression technique which we learnt in week-2 onwards.
II. Review Dataset and Description (Lecture – 7 to 9)
Each week code at least 15-20 lines. This will help you stay on track and complete the project on time.
III. Review Dataset and Description (Lecture – 10 to 11)
Write your report.
Coding, Analysis (Due Lecture - 11) [25 Points]
This part includes the methodology and analysis (critical thinking) including the coding done to generate the necessary outputs to write your report. The code is evaluated based on the implementation of the right techniques in the right sequence. Make sure to review the instructions for the report’s “Analysis, Results and Findings” section to make sure your code includes all the necessary steps.
Report (Due Lecture - 11) [25 Points]
Note: Page length does not matter, if you need more pages to explain what you need to it is OK.
A Technical Summary Report: Report should be in an essay format and be about 5-10 pages. The appendix and SAS code do not count towards the page limit. SAS cod should be submitted in a SAS file. It should also include all the important outputs in the appendix section. This report is intended for a statistically literate audience and must be written in a clear organized fashion using the correct terminology. The format should be like a report or journal article, as NOT like your assignment. It should consist of the following sections:
CS 340 Milestone One Guidelines and Rubric Overview: For this assignment, you will implement the fundamental operations of create, read, update,
