Overview
This assessment provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate their standard of
achievement of the following outcome:
CLO1 - Demonstrate the ability to gather data from various sources and use statistical software to manage and analyse the data.
Instructions
You are required to construct a business presentation (in PowerPoint format accompanied with an excel file) about the Islamic banking progress in United Kingdom. The presentation shall investigate the progress of Islamic banking by performing the following task:
1) Choose proxy indicators for size, profitability and risk (1 proxy for each variable) and explain them
2) Identify a proper source for the data
3) Collect the most recent data available for Islamic and conventional banks for the last 5 years and save it properly to excel file (Data shall be presented/structured rightly)
4) Using the excel file you created, construct 3 informative charts of your selection.
5) Construct a clean and neat PowerPoint file introducing the topic, the objective of the assignment, your chosen indicator, key highlights from the data, and the constructed charts.
6) Write a brief report on the progress of Islamic banking and its current status based on the 3 constructed charts and other data collected.
7) Support your arguments by at least one relevant industry report or an academic paper (you need to include a paragraph summarising the selected report or paper)
Things Need to Be Observed:
- Your document must include a cover sheet that contains the Title of the assessment, Name and Student ID.
- Assignment submitted should be presentable, neat and organized with appropriate formatting.
- Not exceeding 15 Slide (please include slides numbers).
- You will be required to present your project in 5 minutes
Deduction of marks:
Marks will be lost if the above formatting is not adhered to. In particular, marks will be
deducted for each instance of:
1. Late submission (a deduction of 1 mark per day for each day that the assignment is late)
2. Typographical and Contents requirements are not met.
3. Plagiarism is a specific form of academic misconduct. If plagiarism is found, both parties will be penalized regardless of who copies from whom (please refer to the academic rules for "Plagiarism”). Use Turnitin to check similarity. The ratio should be less than 30%
