The main aim of this individual end-of-course (ECA) assignment is to assess your ability to develop a well-executed analytics project.

This assessment will assess your ability to:

1. Assess the key aspects of business analytics

2. Appraise the feasibility of a potential analytics application

3. Create a statement for a problem that is solvable using analytics

4. Prepare data for mining and analysis

5. Select an appropriate analytics solution approach

Question 1 Instruction

1. This assignment requires you to demonstrate skills and knowledge in planning and executing an analytics project using real-world data. To this end, you shall write a report on the analytics project based on a given dataset. Your report shall include key issues to be addressed, and present key results demonstrating the use of analytics to generate useful information.

2. Complete the following tasks:

(a) Obtain the data from https://data.gov.sg/dataset/renting-out-of-flats.

(b) Create a report that contains the following pages:

• Page 1: A cover page providing details of course code, course title, semester and year, your T group, your student ID and your name.

• Page 2: It shall contain a high-resolution image of a poster that presents an analysis of dataset(s) provided for this assignment. It is better to create a portrait orientation poster using a paper size of A3 or larger. When you have completed the poster, save it as an image and then resize it to fit the A4-sized paper of the report.

• Pages 3 to 4: Give a narrative of the poster. Use up to 600 words to highlight key details of the poster presented in Page 2. It should be written like a poster presentation script explaining your work to an audience who is looking at your poster. No additional figures are allowed here.

• Page 5: List citations and references.

(c) Your submission must be original. Do not copy any content of your submission from any source (regardless of public or private). Breaking the word limit rules will result in mark deductions.

(d) The poster should be succinct in words and use appropriate font sizes. In particular, it shall have no more than 300 words in total. The poster should also use meaningfully crafted graphics and charts to illustrate key ideas. Ultimately, the entire poster should be intuitive enough for readers to get a good understanding of the project within three to five minutes. The poster should include details as suggested in the following sections.

(e) Note that the entire work will be assessed based on the following sections. There will be no separate marks allocated for poster and the narrative, which are supposed to complement one another.
