ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS

This reflection paper is a little different than the introductory reflection paper we did at the beginning of the term. Instead of commenting broadly on what you think of Hinduism as a whole, I would like you to do an in depth reflection on a particular piece of the religious practice.

This should involve three (3) distinct sections: (1) Identify what you are going to discuss and briefly explain what it is and what role it plays in Hinduism: for example, if you were going to analyze the concept of Samsara, start by discussing that it is one of Hinduism's fundamental beliefs, and is the idea of reality as we humans "know" it is really just an illusion created by the Gods. [Part 1 is the easy part.]

(2) Analyze, in detail, the topic you have chosen, giving both the definition provided in the book as well as what you understand that to mean. This can be complicated, but it is very important, so the second section of the paper is where you should put most of your attention.

If you were going to analyze the concept of Yoga, you would have to describe more than just what Yoga is, but also the different levels that are described in the text, where Yoga comes from (in history) and what it's major purposes are; you might also want to discuss how Yoga in the USA in 2018 differs from, and/or is the same as, Yoga as it was conceived by Pantajali in the 4th century.
