Overview

The importance of good quality sleep has been evidenced in the fields of mental and physical health. To better understand the economic impact of working on sleeping, the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) hires you to produce a report on the trade-off between sleeping and working. The NHS would like to know how a legislation that will lead to more hours worked in the UK will affect the sleeping patterns in the population.  To do this you must identify your preferred econometric model specification. To facilitate this analysis, you should derive the best statistical relationship between hours of sleep and the explanatory variables in the data.

You must explain why a specific functional form has been chosen.
