You have seen demonstrations of SharePoint, Alfresco, Drupal, Joomla! and Concrete4 at a conference, and have been impressed by the range of functionality that they offer.
Task 1 (30%)
You have been asked to make a 10-minute presentation to the IT director and his/her management team to explain the benefits that an Enterprise 2.0 implementation could bring to the organisation. In your presentation you need to give detailed examples of the functionality in a system of your choice, which you must specify, that it would provide in both of the two categories listed above. For this task you need to produce a presentation (in PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.). Images from your slides need to be included in your report, along with references to support your argument.
Task 2 (20%)
You are also required to record and upload a Panopto screencast (screen capture plus voice over) of your presentation. This is to enable those who were not able to attend the meeting to view your presentation.
Make sure you include the URL of the screencast in your report.
Task 3 (20%)
Currently, many staff members are using Web 2.0 systems such as Facebook, Flickr, box.net and DropBox for online storage, Doodle for scheduling meetings, and Google docs for word processing and other office tasks. Legal issues may arise from this approach, and an Enterprise 2.0 solution may help, but staff still need clear guidelines as to what is acceptable and what is not.
Produce a set of suitable guidelines for staff on the legal aspects appropriate to Enterprise 2.0 systems, making reference to relevant legislation.
Task 4 (30%)
Include three discrete examples from your own lab work using an Enterprise 2.0 system to illustrate the wide range of functionality that is available. (10% for each example, total 30%). Make sure you explain in detail the functionality illustrated, n. and include annotated screenshots.
Report Format
Your report for tasks 1 and 3 should contain a range of suitable references to support your conclusions, and a bibliography of material you have consulted as part of your research. There should be very little material copied from elsewhere, and what is copied must be clearly identified in “quote marks and in italics” and a reference provided.
Marks will be deducted if your report does not meet professional standards for a report.
