Tableau Assignment

This course participates in the Muma COB Citizen Data Science Certificate (CDS) program, which requires Tableau assignments. You are to complete this assignment alone.

Guidelines for the assignment

1. You select the data to analyze and construct visualizations. Data may be financial and obtained from such sites as:

a. Yahoo! Finance

b. National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER)

c. Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED)

d. 75 Sources of Economic Data from Yale

2. Access the tutorials and other guides that may help you gain from this exercise

The learning outcomes you want to accomplish in completing the Tableau projects are:

• the ability to get business insights from the data analysis that you can visualize and explain to others who are not proficient in analyzing data

• increase your acumen in complex problem-solving

• improve your creativity and critical business decision making ability

• develop your logical reasoning

Requirements for the Tableau submission

1. Tableau dashboard of at least 3 visualizations.

2. The dashboard should be interactive: clicking on the filters and the visualizations themselves should change the data in the dashboard.

3. The video should be at least 3 minutes and maximum 5 minutes.

4. The video should include:

a) a brief introduction (name, course #, please show your face),

b) an explanation of the dataset and the assignment (less than a minute)

c) The rest should be an explanation of multiple insights found while navigating the worksheets and dashboard in the Tableau project, using screen capture software, like Screencast-O-Matic, Apowersoft, QuickTime(mac), OBS Studio, Camtasia (not free).

6. The link accessible from the internet, no recorded video files. Please upload as unlisted YouTube video. No MP4 nor Google Drive files.

7. The video should be recorded from laptop using video recording software. Note: Phones and Tablets are not allowed for recording.
