I am an award-winning journalist, freelance writer and copy editor who has 10 years of experience writing for newspapers, magazines, and websites. Some of the awards I've won have been in the categories of headline writing, opinion pieces, humorous columns, feature stories, and news writing. I've covered education and parenting issues, financial news, and health and fitness articles during my career. Education has always been important to me, and I've done a fair amount of teaching. I've taught writing workshops for reporters and freelancers because I love to share the tips of the trade I've learned during the past two decades. I've also taught outdoor living skills, as well as water and fire safety, as a camp counselor for the Girl Scouts.
