Content Structure of Scientific Poster

1. Introduction (background, purpose of research)

2. Methods (design, setting, number of participants, intervention, variables, measurements, statistical analysis method)

Classic anthropometric measurements in free-living adults including height, weight, waist and hip circumference, as well as energy requirements, were measured.

3. Results (subjects characteristics, inclusion/exclusion, frequencies of main outcome variables, comparisons between subgroups, SDs, CIs, level of statistical significance)

4. Discussion/conclusion (what can be concluded, implications)

The objective is to perform statistical analysis for a replication study with class data set based off:

Summary of example study: (the class data set have most of the mentioned measurements)

Relationship between human body anthropometric measurements and basal metabolic rate: Through the use of body composition measurement technology, obtaining the body size data and basal metabolic rate of young healthy subjects, this study aims to find the relationship between the size of the human body and basal metabolic rate. Factor analysis, univariate analysis, and linear regression analysis were performed by SPSS data analysis software. The results indicate that girth and height factors are correlated with the predicted basal metabolic rate as well as the measured basal metabolic rate. The predicted basal metabolic rate is significantly correlated with weight, height, hip circumference, and neck circumference. The measured basal metabolic rate is significantly correlated with the neck circumference as well as height.
