Your Group has been asked to prepare the SPSS data file and descriptive statistics only for a Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) based study: Hessels, J., van Gelderen, M. & Thurik, R. (2008). Entrepreneurial aspirations, motivation, and their drivers, Small Business Economics, 31: 323-339. Data are available for Excel download from the GEM website (https://www.gemconsortium.org/ (Links to an external site.)) and other external sources (e.g. World Bank, OECD). Your task is to form a group, and select a sample of the data (instructions provided in class), assemble the required variables, and analyse the descriptive statistics to assess entrepreneurial aspirations, motivations and their drivers, for two selected years, and identify change in the data. Prepare a draft for submission to a journal, presenting the tables and narratives around the tables for ONLY the univariate analysis that would precede any multivariate analysis of your data file. A marking rubric is below. No word limit is specified, but editors of journals are always looking to save space, so do not use more words than you need to get the task done. You are to make explicit any assumptions you make and submit both your multivariate analysis-ready SPSS data file and a Word document with your portion of the univariate analysis section of the anticipated journal article for publication in the same journal as Hessels et al. (2008).
