reviewer comments: 3. Methods _ Statistical analysis. This section needs to be deeply revised. The following sentence (lines 247-248) needs to be corrected: ”The measurement data for normal distribution were reported by descriptive and frequencies statistics.” What the authors did was checking for normality distribution of their data using descriptive statistics. The following sentence is also problematic: “The Pearson correlation coefficient was used to estimate the correlation between each antecedent and the outcome”. So, why use SEM?? SEM (through AMOS) assesses the relations between the constructs (and thus allows testing the research hypotheses). Another wrong sentence is saying that “Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis 250 (CFA) were used to test the reliability and validity of the structural model.” EFA is not a method to test the reliability and validity of the structural model. Instead, it is a method to reduce data. In this article, it could be used to show that the 3 constructs “Motivation”, “Purchasing Intention” and Health behaviour skills” are unidimensional and formed by the items that the authors are using in the CFA. 4. Results_ Exploratory Factor Analysis. I agree with the use of EFA (before CFA) in this article but not as the authors did. This section is very confusing and misadjusted from the rest of the article. It should be revised by someone with skills in statistics because it is plenty of inaccurate elements. Table II has the title “. Factor analysis”. However, all results are descriptive statistics (not outputs from EFA). Tables III to V are unnecessary. Some of the information from these tables could be commented on in the text, but the tables are unnecessary. Table VI repeats information already presented in table IV (excluding the alphas that could be commented in the text). Table II considers 19 items (PI4 is missing. Why?). However, the 3 constructs “Motivation”, “Purchasing Intention” and Health behaviour skills” have a total of 20 items. EFA suggest 5 factors- However, this finding was ignored in the following analysis, so the results of EFA are not consistent with the results of CFA.
