A product developer is interested in increasing the battery life of their new smartwatch aimed for children. Two types of batteries are tested: a LiIon and a NiMh. A sample of 20 children were recruited from primary schools in Leicestershire. Children wore the smartwatch with a LiIon battery on one week and the smartwatch with NiMh the following week. Both were school weeks, and thus children were expected to undertake the same type of activities overall. The children were asked to wear the watches 24/7 and only time and heartrate monitoring functions were enabled. For each child, the total hours of their watch’s battery life was recorded. The data is available in the SPSS .sav file CourseworkQ1.sav in the coursework block of the module LEARN page. Your task is to determine whether there is a difference between the two types of batteries. a) State your hypothesis.
