1. There are many types of ‘free’ software that exist. This includes:

2. Find an example for each of the three ‘free’ software licenses mentioned above. Clearly identify the purpose of the software and the licensor. How do you think the choice of license fits with the IP owner’s overall business and/or IP strategy?

3. Choose a piece of software that you use and investigate the license terms (it does not need to be one of the software terms mentioned above). Summarize the usage,

improvement, payment, and termination terms by reading through the licensing agreement. You are also encouraged to share any particularly interesting or confusing

terms found within the agreement. Attach the terms sheet to the end of your submission as an Appendix. Be sure to include this in your Table of Contents.
