Prepare a research paper investigating a functional relationship between selected financial variables. You can use the FRED daily, monthly or quarterly databases for your analysis, or other data and library resources.

 

My Topic:  Real Effective Exchange Rates and Impact on Exports and Imports in Ghana.

Source of Data: Please use 25 years of data from FRED.

 

In your paper:

 

1. State an analytical problem.
2. Find several literature references and discuss them.
3. Design an analytical (econometric), multivariate model.
4. Test your model with a stationary OLS regression as a baseline regression.
5. Apply at least two other advanced analytical techniques, such as: Multiple Breakpoint regression, ARMA, S-ARMA (stochastic seasonality ARMA), VAR with impulse response functions, GARCH, realized volatility functions, Markov switching etc.. Analyze the results and check for robustness.
6. Provide some policy recommendations.
