You should start off with an overall MANOVA with generations as your independent variable

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS

Requested updates from Professor:

There is a bigger problem with your statistical analysis. You should start off with an overall MANOVA with generations as your independent variable and the measures as the dependent variable. Once that is done, then you can look at specific ANOVAs of generations and measures. Only then can you perform protected t-tests of your hypotheses.

Otherwise, as I wrote last night, you have done well on this.

After I  made the above edits:

I have attached your thesis with corrections and comments. Most of those are minor.

In many places you have sections breaks where you do not need them. You should use section breaks, if necessary, between chapters. In most cases you should use page breaks.

As I mentioned earlier in presenting your results of the MANOVA, you should present the multivariate F with the degrees of freedom and the probability. Because the MANOVA is significant, you should then present all univariate Fs with their degrees of freedom and probabilities. It appears that the univariate F for Work-Life Balance is the only one that is significant. Strictly speaking it is only for that variable that you can perform protected t-tests. However, I think it is only fair also to examine comparisons that you hypothesized.

I would like to see your output for myself. It appears that I have worked with MANOVA more than you.

After sending my output:

You should start off saying that your analysis was successful. The MANOVA was statistically significant; there are differences between the generations!

You then look at the univariate statistics to get a sense of what those differences are. This may involve rewriting parts of your results section.

In your discussion section you may want to consider the following. You went into this study with some ideas about each generation. How have changed and how have they stayed the same?

This is good work!

I had a few minutes between my meetings today and I looked at your latest draft - method section onwards and I have some general suggestions in terms of content and organization of the work. Please plan on elaborating your discussion area a little bit more to sync with every result and in the light of existing literature. You could do a better job of explaining why/what might be at work for your result being in one direction Vs. the other. Going one step back, I would even suggest turning that chapter into Results and Discussion and discuss after presenting each result as it is hard to go back and forth (because of the high number of hypotheses included in your study). I also would like to have you re-mention each Hypothesis (or the set) before mention of every analysis that you have done to test that specific hypothesis (or set) and then present the results and interpretation of the results. The last chapter could then be summary and conclusions, limitations, and recommendations for future research. All these are suggested to improve your presentation and ease of readability. We do typically have such edits even after we listen to you in the final defense because after seeing your presentation the committee members get a clearer picture of the work and the results and may have ideas to improve the final thesis write-up so just wanted to convey that to help you prepare a receptive mindset for that as well.
