Superstore is a famous retailer in Canada. They have expanded into the USA and their business model involves placing Sales Agents in every state in the USA. These sales agents are responsible for bringing in sales for the state that they are assigned to.

The Sales Manager wants a dashboard to track how Sales Agents are doing. She wants to be able to select a timeframe (e.g., January - March 2020) and track growth. Further, she wants a breakdown of sales per category (and possibly subcategory) as well as the top performing products.

You task is to design a dashboard (or story) in Tableau that satisfies the Sales Manager’s desires. 

What to submit: 

• A Tableau packaged workbook, which allows others to open and use your Tableau file without having the raw data on their computer. See this link for details.

• An optional Word document that clarifies or explains your dashboard, visuals, key indicators, etc.

 

Where you can lose points: 

• Not meeting the Sales Manager’s stated goals

• Poor style and aesthetics

• Dashboard not being interactive

• Dashboards not formatted properly or being shabby

• Not submitting a packaged workbook

 

Lastly, this is intended to be a fun project so spend time and create your visualizations. The skills you gain on this project will translate immediately when you begin your professional careers as Tableau (and similar products like Microsoft BI) are ubiquitous. Good Luck!
